Nature Baby - Eco Friendly Products
Supporting small shops, as I've made very apparent in previous posts is so important to me. One of the main reasons is the eco-friendly aspect of small shops. This was no exception for Nature Baby. They follow through on their promise of offering natural products that babies will love at an economical price. Nature Baby is a Canadian boutique that offers the best European products. My Little has always been a bit fussy when it comes to bottles. Although EBF, I pump a bottle, every night, right before bed to get that "milk drunk" effect like when she was newborn. The EcoViking bottle is awesome! Not only was there no fuss when transitioning to the EcoViking bottle and no white film leftover when cleaning the bottle, what really caught my attention and won over my decision to transition was the glass aspect of the bottle. When choosing plastic products I always ensure it is free of BPA's and other scary alphabetical plastics, however, even with that in mind I've always had a bit of anxiety around warming up plastic. The EcoViking bottle takes away all those worries. At first I did not know how using a glass bottle with a busy toddler would go. Is the chance of a glass bottle breaking and hurting her worth it? But! Of course this innovative company thought of that - the silicone sleeve keeps it safe from breaking and locks in the heat. They have even made it resistant of shattering from frozen to boiling water. The EcoViking bottle is equipped with orthodontic nipples, a lid and a stopper to put inside the top of the bottle. The stopper is a small genius chip that prevents leaks when packing the bottle to go. Aesthetically the silicone sleeves are colorful, fun and my daughter even likes to chew on it as a teether. If you are in the market for teethers EcoViking also has great silicone options for teethers and soothers.
Moltex Eco Friendly Diapers
I've been on the fence about cloth diapers since I was pregnant, however, there's one explanation on cleaning cloth diapers that I will never be able to get out of my head (or past my weak stomach). A lady told me "It's no big deal! You put them in your bath tub fill it with hot water, grab the mop handle and swish the diapers around. You may have to strain the solids, but for the most part it will just go down the drain, or at the very least you can put them in your freezer and shake off the solids"... Uh, yeah, no thanks. Warmed up solid waste, frozen poopcicles next to my smoothie mix, is not really my idea of "no big deal". However, what is a big deal is the amount of waste babies, rather, humans in general make. This was my dilemma: how do I continue to use disposable diapers while making the smallest toxic footprint possible? Moltex Diapers - an eco-friendly disposable diaper was the answer! I'll admit I was afraid to try a new brand because Jaxzen is 14 months and has never had a diaper rash, however, this diaper delivers on all levels: no leaks, comfortable fit, soft materials without chlorine, fragrance or latex. One important aspect that turned a like to a love, (on the aesthetic side) for the Moltex diaper is the plain white design. As wonderful as the blue indicator on other brands can be, it is also quite a nuisance when visible through clothes; knowing full well you just changed her diaper! I have made the switch and I am extremely happy about it. The best part? No diaper rash! Moltex diapers are friendly: environmentally, economically & especially on your babies skin.
